Here’s one way I see my muse: Like twisted tendrils of smoke, she’s constantly changing and evolving, and she’s impossible to hold on to. But as long as the source stays lit, she continues to tempt me her way.

Five years ago, I was 22 and months away from graduating. I was coming off one of my busiest, but most productive quarters of school. I was working 3 jobs and had a full load of classes and the only thing nagging me was the feeling that I was on the cusp of something big, something better.
Day 27 – Why are you doing this 30 day challenge?
No matter what the desired outcome, to achieve anything, work must be done. This seems like a very obvious point; however, it is easily (and frequently) forgotten, especially when chasing perfection in one’s craft.
Working as a writer straight out of college, I adopted the unfortunate habit of put off writing for myself; quickly I found myself in a rut and fairly unhappy. In an attempt to stimulate my creative juices and thanks in large part to the urging of a good friend, I decided I must find a way to write for myself and this 30 Day Blog Challenge presented the perfect opportunity to do just this.

In a world of givers and takers, I am a giver. I totally get off on giving people gifts and taking care of them, and I feel uncomfortable when I take more than I give. But as much as I love giving, a lot of people make me regret it. That group of people who don’t? Those are my friends.
