Twitter: the Internet’s Happy Place?

My friend Lori (@lj3000) is notorious for telling people, sometimes strangers, to find their happy place, and it is from her that I learned to just be positive.  Not being a naturally happy, positive, or optimistic person, it was a skill I had to learn; since acquring this new skill, I’ve noticed the negativity in the world even more.  But one place that negativity certainly doesn’t fly is on Twitter.

I went to a funeral today, though it felt more like a curious cross between a soap opera and a circus.  Yea.  It was odd.  And wrong.

Between the unnecessary Spanish translation of the service and the superfluous parade of “wedding” pictures, I think it’d be safe to say that even Chuck wouldn’t have enjoyed his own funeral.  So here’s my personal memorial to my friend, Charles:

I realized that the super awesome, oh-so-cool-&-pretty theme I was using before (Arras Theme by Melvin Lee) wasn’t working for me.  That is,  because it was so graphic heavy, if I didn’t have an appropriate picture to fit, I’d immediately use that as an excuse to not writing at all.  Well, that needed to change; hence, the new redesign.  However, b/c I have the attention span of a (oh look over there, what’s that?) 5-year-old, I haven’t completed the change & customization of the new theme (Sliding Doors by Wayne Connor).  My apologies for the semi-mess of a page you’ve happened upon… it’ll always be a work in progress, but right now, it’s a bit worse than I’d like.  :)

Last Thursday, that which seemed ironically both impossible and inevitable happened. The King of Pop passed away. And still, as predictable as ever, the media jumped on it and proved that the story hasn’t changed. He is and always has been misunderstood.
