Chicken Dog Treats
I’ve been cooking and baking more than I ever and each time I try something new, the result is amazing. Red velvet cupcakes = delish! Fluffy frosting made from scratch = decadent!
So being the dog lover I am, I wanted to make treats from scratch for my dogs & my bf’s dog. I’m guessing that dog treats, like human treats, taste better if they’re made with fresh, natural ingredients (not to mention the dash of love added to everything homemade). I didn’t do a taste test, but the canines have yet to complain! :)
What goes in (from All-Natural-Dog-Treat.com):
1½ C shredded cooked chicken
½ C chicken broth
1 C whole wheat flour
1/3 C cornmeal
1 tbsp butter
Preheat the oven to 350°. Blend shredded chicken, broth, and butter until well combined. (I did this by hand using a fork. My biceps look good now, yea? :P) Add flour and cornmeal. Use your hands and knead dough into a ball. Roll to about ¼ inch & cut into cookies. The original directions say to cut into 1 in. cookies, but personally, I LOVE using cookie cutters, so I did.
Place the cut dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes. Remember to allow them to cool before giving them to your pampered pooch.
Remember these are treats, not a substitute for food.

I love this. I’m so going to try this.
Duchess & Roxy are adorable, and very fortunate to have you baking their treats! :) I love the ingredients for this dog treat recipe, they are so healthy. The only thing I might try is substituting canola or olive oil for the butter. Thank you for sharing the recipe and your pictures.
